Ametophorical
The stones breathe
with a patience near eternal
and a peace born only
in stillness—the demons
only assuaged by prayer—a waterfall
of swine, pouring over the cliffside
The stones are breathing
The trees sway
with gestures evoking melody
and postures of ancestral fire—the angels
round the street corner quicker than
sight—a wildflower
of sutured skin
the night blooms
draped over hospital beds
The trees are dancing
Entirely absent or forgetful or whatever suffices
of personification
Each thing is pressing itself to the glass to be seen
the Earth—an impatient orangutan
waiting for the man with the camera
to do something worth his while
The Earth is an impatient orangutan
