Candle
A day is a candle that’s burnt at both ends:
I and time
are melting.
This melting
is not a symbiosis:
rather parasitic.
Eating each other
Time and I,
take what's good for the getting:
he me, I him.
The light goes out
around 2PM.
Then the wax is used for
tacking up the speedboat bottom:
glides across the water.
Spreadsheets
don't go faster
with wax on their bottoms.
What a
shame!
I know this, and
I still light the candle, and
I still use the wax on the spreadsheets.
On
fumes
running:
the smoke wafting
in the ventilation shafts.
The dark is
nothing to be afraid of:
tomorrow will bring its own matches
and another candle to burn.

On the plus side, one gets twice the light. On the downside, one has it for half the time.
